Description
The last decades have witnessed a revolution in sensing of chemicals and aerosol in the atmosphere, changing the way we understand urban emissions and air quality in terms of magnitudes, heterogeneity, source identification, and dynamics. At the same time compute availability has enabled increased spatial resolution in physics-based models and application of machine learning to these diverse datasets. However the datasets, tools, and efforts related to GHG and air quality science remain largely separated, despite the fact that urban residents experience associated hazards in a compounded way and urban infrastructure changes (e.g., building or transportation decarbonization) have measurable benefits in both domains. This workshop aims to build from sharing on state-of-the-art research across these domains toward an answer to the question “How do these scientific communities studying the same air, from the same sources, in the same cities, work toward integration of datasets, models, tools to achieve shared insight and multiply forward progress?
Important
We wish to ensure plenty of time for deep dive presentations and in-depth conversations, better achieved in a smaller group (targeting no more than 20 to 25 participants). If you are interested in attending but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizers before registering.
Schedule
Sessions are typically scheduled in the afternoons, leaving mornings and evenings free for informal collaborations and recreation opportunities. The closing day of the workshop will have a morning session to facilitate travel.
Lodging and Travel
Travel to Telluride can be expensive; please assess your own potential travel costs before registering.
Please book your travel plans! The Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is the most reliable and convenient airport for Telluride.
Telluride Science can provide lodging starting as low as $215/night during off-peak weeks and as low as $250/night during peak-season at the Mountainside Inn. These affordable lodging options are limited and available first-come, first-serve. To encourage participants to secure affordable lodging, we offer a $100 discount on lodging provided through Telluride Science that is secured before the Early Bird deadline. Additionally, we work with many lodging providers in Telluride and Mountain Village to offer discounts between 10-15% off your total lodging balance. Additional information provided with registration.
If you have more questions about lodging, reach out to Sara at sara@telluridescience.org.
Cancellation Policy
Registrations may be refunded less a $25 cancellation fee. If cancelled before the lodging cancellation deadline, lodging payments are refundable less a $100 cancellation fee. It is each participant's responsibility to confirm and understand their own lodging cancellation deadline. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
Registration will open soon.
We’re putting the finishing touches on registration for this workshop. Questions in the meantime? Contact sara@telluridescience.org.
