Description
Quantum computing (QC) is emerging as a game-changing computing technology that will tackle challenging computational tasks not solvable with classical high performance computing architectures. After several decades of theoretical and experimental progress in quantum science, recent discoveries and technical advances are showing that quantum acceleration of traditional algorithms holds promise to revolutionize computational science in multiple fields.
Challenges facing quantum computing include further development of qubits that maintain low error rates, error correction methods, software that connects quantum computers to classical supercomputers, and application algorithms that efficiently exploit the quantum advantage to solve grand challenge science problems.
The purpose of this quantum computing workshop is to accelerate innovation in the field by collecting in one place leading commercial vendors, quantum science experts, and domain scientists who use quantum algorithms in fields such as chemistry, materials science, optimization, biomedicine, fluid dynamics, AI/ML, and banking.
With a view towards proposing a roadmap for quantum computing algorithms in the next five to ten years, the workshop will focus on 1) the development of the first stage of fault tolerant algorithms directed at various applications and 2) the hardware/software interface to create flexible infrastructure that allows for rapid installation and testing of new quantum architectures without ’reinventing the wheel’ for each technology.
This workshop will include the leading vendors developing new qubit technologies and a range of computer and domain scientists developing software frameworks for integrating quantum computers into classical infrastructure and algorithms to be deployed on applications. Accelerated discovery is likely to occur at that boundary.
Goals are to create a "maker space" that closely ties computer scientists to real world applications of quantum computing and document the resulting roadmap through a publication.

The registration price includes a picnic dinner on Wednesday night as well as a continental breakfast, snacks, and beverages every day of the workshop.

We wish to ensure an intimate workshop setting, with no more than 20 to 25 participants. If you are interested in attending, but have not received an invitation, please contact the workshop organizer before registering.
Telluride Science is about expanding the frontiers of science, exploring new ideas, and building collaboration. The workshop schedule will allow for substantial unstructured time for participants to talk and think. All participants are expected to stay for the entire duration of the workshop.

Travel to Telluride can be expensive; please assess your own potential travel costs before registering.
Telluride Science can provide lodging starting as low as $215/night during off-peak weeks and as low as $250/night during peak-season at the Mountainside Inn. These affordable lodging options are limited and available first-come, first-serve. To encourage participants to secure affordable lodging, we offer a $100 discount on lodging provided through Telluride Science that is secured before the Early Bird deadline. Additionally, we work with many lodging providers in Telluride and Mountain Village to offer discounts between 10-15% off your total lodging balance. Please book your travel plans! The Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is the most reliable and convenient airport for Telluride.
Cancellation Policy
Registrations may be refunded less a $25 cancellation fee. If cancelled before the lodging cancellation deadline, lodging payments are refundable less a $100 cancellation fee. It is each participant's responsibility to confirm and understand their own lodging cancellation deadline. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
